Biography

Ben Liebmann is the founder of Understory, an independent advisory specialising in the business of media, entertainment, hospitality, and culture. Founded in Copenhagen in 2020 and with offices in Sydney, the company works with the world's leading creators, companies, and change-makers, to turn great ideas into powerful brands, businesses, and stories.

Understory also operates a content studio, developing and packaging original programming for film, television, audio, and print.

Before launching Understory, Ben was the Chief Operating Officer of the acclaimed Restaurant Noma, the Chief Executive Officer of Shine 360° (a Shine Group company) overseeing the company's global portfolio and commercial rights, and worked in the leadership teams of FremantleMedia and Warner Music Group.

In addition to "Omnivore", for which he is an Executive Producer alongside long-time collaborator René Redzepi, Ben has worked across many of the biggest unscripted series and franchises of the past two decades including "MasterChef", "Grand Designs", "Project Runway", "One Born Every Minute" and "Idol".

Ben has also served on the jury of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and as advisory board member of Screen Producers Australia.
