Biography

Arisu is an Emmy-winning designer and director based in New York. Born in Japan and raised in Los Angeles, she graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Fine Arts Graphic Design in 2005. She is an independent director and creative director in the film and TV industry, with a focus on branding, video production and post-production, live action, and title design.

In 2017, Arisu won an Emmy for Outstanding Main Title Design for Netflix's Stranger Things. She has also earned an Emmy nomination for designing the main titles for Marvel's Jessica Jones and HBO's Warrior, which both garnered Gold for PromaxBDA Art Direction & Design in Program Open/Titles. Arisu was featured in Art of The Title as one of 10 Women of Title Design of 2017.

Arisu is a member of the Television Academy and on the judge panel for the Motion Awards by Motionographer. She has been on the jury for Art Director's Club 98th Annual Awards in the Motion + Film Craft category in 2019.
