Biography

Olivier Riquelme is a Franco-American actor who often portrays complex, dark and edgy characters. He started his career in Paris, France. After studying at the Actor's Studio , he played supporting parts in TV Series such as Central Nuit / Night Squad (Award of Best TV Show 2006), Boulevard du Palais, Clara Sheller, the TV Movie Le Temps Meurtrier. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career, starred in the short drama Light Years, produced by J.J. Abrams's production company Bad Robot.

He was LE 12 in a series of 6 commercials that won the Grand Prix Effie in 2006.

Olivier goes from a charismatic husband to an abusive sex addict in the drama La Benediction, then a sophisticated gangster in Stay Shy. He plays a soldier who defies the Ambassador in "The Last Battle Of Dozham", then briefly returns to theater in the play Hot Juicy Violets in Los Angeles, the intense role of a young man who physically and mentally abused his girlfriend. He is Jack, a TV host in the Movie "The Rise And Fall Of Armando Venezuela", then worked with director Lana Bergen on "The Sparkle", who cast him right after the screening of "Awareness" ( short film corner in Cannes Film Festival 2010). Olivier worked with Actor/ Director Ronee Blakley on her Movie "Of One Blood", where he plays a businessman/ explosives dealer, opposite Sarah Blakley-Cartwright and Smokey Miles, with a cameo of Wim Wenders. Olivier has been given a best actor nomination for the role of Lyle in "The Sparkle" at the CV Indie Film Awards in October 2018.

When he was 10, Olivier and his family moved to Cayenne, French Guyana, in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. The family moved back to Metropolitan France when Olivier was 16.

He worked for Film Festivals such as the AFI Film Festival, The Silver Lake Film Festival, as a filmmaker liaison, The Downtown Film Festival and DIY Days.

He wrote his 1st novel " Le Banjo Du Barjot".

After briefly studying law in Aix-en Provence, he graduated in business development in Marseille, then moved to Paris where he got signed by a modeling agency, Metropolitan Men. His career took off about a year later when signed by a different agency, whom he remained with for about 7 years. Olivier has worked for prestigious brands such as Yves St-Laurent, Givenchy, Kodak (Commercial USA), Lucky Strike, Tom Ford, Rodier, Armani.

Olivier has been working with the F.B.I. -offices of Los Angeles- since 2012, as an actor, thanks to their partnership with the Stella Adler Academy. The training consists in playing an extreme crisis scenario, where the FBI agents, SWAT team, LAPD officers will be using their negotiation and tactical skills. Most recently, Olivier and 5 other actors started a different type of training with MHIT - Mental Health Intervention Training Department of the LAPD- where they have been trained to portray bipolar disorder, schizophrenia & suicidal, to prepare the LAPD officers to better identify the issues they encounter on a daily basis, as well as dealing with opioid related issues within the homeless population.

I will never forget my first birthday in Los Angeles. Back then we could still go to Mulholland Dr. in the evening and enjoy the view. I sat on the wall, New Order was playing down at the Hollywood Bowl, and I spent hours staring at the city lights. I knew then, I knew this would not be easy, but I also knew I made the right choice.

Growing up in the Amazon rainforest has been such an unbelievable, unforgettable and privileged experience. Nothing compares to this.
