Biography

Lupe Tijerina was born on November 6, 1947 in Los Ramones, Nuevo León, Mexico. He was an actor, known for Palm Springs (2020), Las tres tumbas (1980) and Cazador de asesinos (1983). He died on July 5, 2016 in Ciudad Fernández, San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

He later joined Rosendo Cantú with whom he recorded countless hits.

He had a son, Fernando Tijerina Rodarte. He also had a daughter with his wife.

He died from a heart attack in the morning of July 5, 2016. Tijerina felt bad during a concert performance with the group Los Cadetes de Linares de Lupe Tijerina at the fair in Ciudad Fernández, and was treated on stage by paramedics. Then he was taken to a hospital by ambulance in the neighboring Río Verde, where he died. He was accompanied by his wife and daughter, who were part of the production team of the group.

Original member of the group Los Cadetes de Linares with Homero Guerrero. Tijerina was the fourth accordionist of the group. He recorded for the first time in 1974, when he composed the "Los Dos Amigos" song that projected them nationally and internationally.
