    He has contributed journalism to The Financial Times, The Paris Review, The Wall Street Journal, Harper's, Esquire, The Spectator, Monocle, The Telegraph on Sunday, The Indian Quarterly, BBC Radio, and The Pushcart Prize Anthology, as well as photography to Elle. He has reported from the US, UK, Chile, Sweden, France, Mexico, Croatia, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey and Morocco.

    Linville is a former long-time Editor of "The Paris Review" literary magazine. His profile of filmmaker Billy Wilder is included in "The Paris Review Interviews, Vol 1" published by Picador. He was also instrumental in recognizing and publishing the earliest work of a number of prominent writers, including Jeffrey Eugenides, Edward P. Jones and Junot Diaz (winners respectively of the 2003, 2004 & 2008 Pulitzer Prizes for fiction), as well as Rick Bass, Claire Keegan, Vikram Chandra, Phoenix Nguyen, and award-winning playwright Martin McDonagh. He lives in New York and London.

    His play "The Wager" was presented in The Base Creates Theatre Company's inaugural "Agon" evening of short plays in East London.
