- Olivia Thai was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are ethnic Chinese from Vietnam. Dropping out of high school at the age of fifteen to attend a local community college, she soon made it to UCLA. Eventually she moved out of her parents house and decided to record videos of her singing. Throughout her career she would write many songs and appear on programs like American Idol, Taiwan Idol and Megastar.
