- Katerina Kaskanioti is a media executive and producer with a distinguished career in broadcasting, film, and digital media. She was the first female CEO of ERT S.A., Greece's public broadcaster, serving as Managing Director and Executive Board Member. During her tenure, she expanded ERTFLIX into a leading entertainment platform, strengthened regional stations, and secured ERT's participation in major international co-productions, including Sacrifice by Romain Gavras and a series adaptation of The Great Chimera, based on the novel by M. Karagatsis.
Prior to ERT, Katerina spent over two decades at NOVA S.A., playing a key role in launching Greece's first digital satellite platform. As head of NOVA's digital pay television for Greece and Cyprus, she secured major content deals with Hollywood studios (Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Disney, MGM) and European distributors. She also drove innovation in the media landscape, produced over 1,000 hours of live television programming, and contributed to sports broadcasting, collaborating with Greek federations and international sports organizations.
Throughout her career at NOVA and ERT, she has approved 199 co-productions for feature films, including some of the most awarded Greek titles of the last two decades. As a partner and executive producer at Central Athens Film Productions, she produced the Greek-British film Cafe 404.
Beyond broadcasting, she is a passionate advocate for gender equality. As President of Women in Film & Television Greece (WIFT GR) and a Board Member of Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI), she has led initiatives empowering women in film and sports. She is also a member of the Hellenic Film Academy, supporting cultural development.
