With over 20 years of experience, she has specialized in the bloody, gory, and visually daring side of filmmaking, working on major productions across the globe. Yli-Luopa's expertise is grounded in genre cinema, from action-packed battles to absurd, splatter-filled horror. Her award-winning makeup design can be seen in films such as Sisu, Unknown Soldier, Valhalla, and Helsinki Mansplaining Massacre. Whether crafting war wounds, broken faces, or over-the-top gore, Yli-Luopa's work is precise, brutal, and unforgettable. She has received four Jussi Awards for Best Makeup and several international nominations and awards.

She is also known by the nickname Mistress of Blood.
