Biography

A true product of small town America, Andrew grew up the middle child in middle Ohio. Born the son of a copier salesman who moonlighted as a piano player, he was inundated into the arts at a young age. Spending the majority of his youth as an escapist, he formed an early obsession for the cinema which has persisted ever since. Jumping from one darkened room to another he lived in local movie houses, sometimes watching three or four films a day & constantly absorbing the flickering images before him. After immersing himself in kung-fu movies he convinced his parents to enroll him in martial arts, where he would learn both the discipline & work ethic. He enrolled to colleges primarily as an athlete, but as a wild card applied to a prestigious conservatory for acting in Chicago. Not knowing what a monologue was until a few hours before the audition, he largely improvised a piece, playing a male stripper and removing his clothes. On April Fool's Day he received a letter of acceptance. He quickly transitioned from acting to directing, working in theatre productions as well beginning an intensive study of filmmaking. Without a formal film school he was largely self-taught, learning the crafts of editing & cinematography to facilitate his writing & directing. He was in production on his first feature film by his senior year. That film ultimately moved him to Los Angeles, where it won several film festivals and received unanimous critical acclaim. Already exceeding a decade of experience, Andrew continues to work freelance as a director, writer, editor & DP on projects ranging from feature film to television, commercial, industrial music video & web. He is in development on his second feature film through his production company, Furnessville Pictures.
