The film "Temas Propios," directed by Guillermo Rocamora, Cimarrón Cine production company, for which Martín Rivero wrote the score alongside Nicolás Demczylo, has been selected to represent Uruguay as a pre-candidate for the Academy Awards.

Martín collaborates with the group Campo, created by Juan Campodónico (renowned musical producer from Bajofondo, Peyote Asesino, Jorge Drexler among others). They received a Grammy nomination for "Best Alternative Pop Album" for the album Campo at the 2013 US Grammy Awards and a Latin Grammy nomination for the song "1987 ft. Jorge Drexler.

In 2002, alongside Javier Vaz Martins, he created the band Astroboy, a group that brought a breath of fresh air to Uruguayan pop rock at the time. As part of Astroboy, he released three albums in a short period until the band dissolved in 2008.

As a solo artist, he has released two albums, "Estas Cosas No Son Mías" and "La Espuma de las Horas."
