  • Séainín Brennan stars as Mrs Porter in Steven Knight's major new BBC drama "This Town". Séainín has a string of television and film credits which began when she swapped stage for screen by starring opposite Philip Glenister as his English girlfriend Frances in the BBC One primetime drama "Hidden", a role for which she was subsequently named 'Woman of the Year in the Arts' for her breakthrough performance.

    She is best known on screen as grieving mother and battered wife Liz Tyler in the critically acclaimed psychological thriller "The Fall", written by Emmy Award winner Allan Cubitt, alongside Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson and as American heiress Anna McVeigh in the original Netflix crime drama series "Hache".

    One of Ireland's most prolific stage actresses, Séainín has tread the boards of some of the most prestigious theatres and her performances have won her rave reviews across Ireland and the UK, most notably for her performances as Regine in the World Premiere of Ibsen's "Ghosts" by Irish playwright Frank McGuinness at Bristol Old Vic; for her portrayal as Helen Woods in the Irish Premiere of "Scenes from the Big Picture" by Owen McCafferty and for Tania in Marie Jones' World Premiere of "Sinners" at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast. No stranger to the Dublin stage, Séainín has worked with award winning Broadway director, David Esbjornson, in Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" at The Gate Theatre, opposite Hollywood stalwart Harris Yullen and she also created the role of Rebecca Loos in the world premiere of "Macbecks", the smash hit comedy about David Beckham at the Olympia Theatre. Séainín has had leading roles in a myriad of award-winning BBC and RTE Radio Dramas including: "Bitter Pill", "The Heiress and the General", "Bog Girls", "The Van", "The Snapper", "Do's and Don'ts for the Mentally Interesting" and "Reprise" [BBC 4], "An enemy of the people" [BBC 3], "Rush" [BBC 7] and "Babies" [RTE].

    She is also one of Ireland's most sought-after voiceover artists, voicing high profile advertising campaigns for some of Ireland's biggest companies.

    Séainín trained professionally at the Guildford School of Acting and the Irish Film Actors Studio.
