Biography

Writer/Director Brandon Thomas was raised in Bixby, Oklahoma until he was fifteen before moving to San Clemente, CA. shortly after the passing of his father. He became an avid surfer before joining the swim team his senior year and becoming an ocean lifeguard/EMT where he spent sixteen years. His love for storytelling led him to study film at San Francisco State University, under mentor Professor Jameson Goldner where he made his thesis film "The Runaway", a period piece shot on location in San Francisco that pays homage to the silent films of the 1920s.

A couple years after graduating, he moved to Los Angeles where he spent the next 10 years - producing and directing short films, commercials, music videos, and PSAs for organizations such as the American Cancer Society.

Brandon works as a Mastering Manager of feature films for Amazon-MGM Studios, where he masters new releases, acquisitions, and remasters older MGM/UA/Orion films for distribution.

After a long hiatus, Brandon was inspired to write, produce, and direct "Hummingbird" - a 21-min dramatic short film, starring Johnathan Tchaikovsky, Melinda Tanner, and Happy Anderson. The film completed in May 2024 with plans to screen on this year's film festival circuit.

He is also in development on a feature film project entitled "The Bloc", a revenge story about an anti-fascist who takes the fight to Neo-Nazis and white supremacist groups during George Floyd protests in Portland, Oregon.
