Biography

A true Southerner, Kimberly Durrett grew up in Texas and the Ozarks of Arkansas. Growing up on the stage in musicals and plays at both church and school, Durrett developed a love for acting and singing and began pursuing an acting career after graduating from college. Because of her degree in Broadcasting, she was a radio announcer/personality before becoming a serious actor in both comedy and drama.

After moving from Dallas, Texas, to Los Angeles, it was her appearance on General Hospital which was the start of many more projects to come, including being cast in a project with 24's Glenn Morshower. Along with being the lead in several films, she's had six films debut at a local Los Angeles film festival, including Stained, which won eight awards, including Best Picture; Bag, winning three awards, including Best Comedy; Skip Listening, nominated for 13 awards, including Best Picture and Best Comedy; and Abel's Wheels, which was in the festival's top 25 films.

But Durrett's performances aren't limited to the camera. She's also a voice-over artist and host, co-hosting the 2009 Method Festival with LA's well-known Fritz Coleman, and again in 2010 where she had the privilege of presenting an award with actor Bill Paxton to the legendary Bruce Dern. Some of her VO credits include State Farm Insurance, Hewlett Packard, Making the Turn (with legendary Sports Announcer Pat Summerall), Atlanta Bread Co., and Family Christian Stores. She's also a puppeteer, with her most notable characters being Kiki, the little pink monster, which debuted for the producers of America's Got Talent, and Love Bug, which debuted for a Pasadena, CA, audience of 1,000.

Her improv training is with David Magidoff; commercial training with renowned LA commercial acting coach Carolyne Barry; scene study training includes Jim Caviezel's coach, John Kirby; on-camera technique training with Christinna Chauncey, Wendy Davis (Lifetime's Army Wives) at The LA Actors Center, Clay Banks, and Mark Atteberry.
