Alan Zhang went to Europe and the United States in the early 1990s, was one of the earliest investors in electronic signatures. Zhang has invested in hydroelectric power stations, hotels, real estate, high-tech chips and other industries in China, now mainly engaged in work related to film and television, media, culture, education, and other fields.
In 2008, he wrote and directed his first feature film Waiting In Beijing.
His latest film, The Favorite of Times (written and directed by) has already received recognition from several international film festivals, including the 2024 Chinese American Film Festival.
