Geoff Stirling Jr., or Geoffrey Shyam Stirling, was born to Geoffrey Scott Stirling of British and Scottish descent and Judith Olivia Young, of Italian and Ukrainian decent.

Known among colleagues as Geoff, pronounced Jeff, Stirling was born in San Diego, California. His middle name, Shyam, pronounced SHALM, is a Sanskrit word for pure space. Geoff's father, Scott Stirling, was inspired to bestow this middle name upon him by a devout meditation instructor of India's guru tradition.

Geoff Stirling Jr.'s father, Scott Stirling, is the Chief Executive Officer for the Newfoundland Broadcasting Company, which was co-founded by Geoff Stirling Jr.'s grandfather, Geoffrey William Stirling.

Geoff Stirling Jr. has an older brother, Jesse, who hosts an interview-format program for Newfoundland Television (ntv.ca) titled "Meetings with Remarkable People." Jesse is married to Amanda Stirling, Senior Vice President Global Publicity at Universal Pictures.

Geoff Stirling Jr.'s younger sister, Lydia McLaughlin, was a Real Housewife of Orange County on Bravo (bravotv.com) for two seasons. Geoff's mother, Judy Stirling, stole the scene in key moments of their story arc. Lydia's husband, Doug McLaughlin, is the founder and chief editor of a Men's Luxury magazine, titled Nobleman (noblemagazine.com).

Geoff Stirling Jr. was an avid sportsman and skateboarder in his youth and was scouted by a modeling agency in La Jolla, California when he was sixteen years old. He went on to a lucrative modeling career before spring-boarding into acting.

Geoff Stirling Jr. graduated Phi Beta Kappa in Communication Studies from the University of San Diego. He has been employed as an international male model, an actor, a stuntman, a personal trainer, a karate instructor for expert village, a sailing and windsurfing instructor, a salesman, a baker and a television producer.

Geoff Stirling Jr. heads a production company, Shyam Bird Productions LLC, out of Southern California.
