Biography

Steven Thibault is an award-winning producer, creative executive, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of film, technology, and global content production. His work has contributed to some of the most critically acclaimed and culturally impactful films of the past two decades, with over 140 productions collectively earning 37 Academy Award nominations (including 6 wins), 19 Golden Globe nominations (5 wins), and 33 BAFTA nominations (7 wins), and screening at more than 250 film festivals worldwide.

Beyond individual projects, Thibault is known for designing and scaling production ecosystems that integrate creative development, financing, and emerging technologies. He works closely with leading studios, financiers, and creative teams to architect projects, and the infrastructure around them, for long-term value, global distribution, and evolving audience behaviors.

He is particularly focused on the convergence of AI, digital production, and IP monetization... developing new pipelines that combine traditional filmmaking with generative tools, virtual production, and more agile, cost-efficient workflows. Through his ventures and partnerships, he helps enable faster development cycles, streamlined production, and expanded downstream revenue across digital products, licensing, and technology-driven storytelling.

Thibault remains deeply involved across all stages of production, from early development through to delivery, aligning creative vision with sophisticated financial structures. He has closed hundreds of single- picture financing deals and co-financing slates with major studios, and is highly experienced in structuring international co-productions, tax-driven financing, and multi-market partnerships.

Originally trained as an auditor at Ernst & Young working with global media clients, he brings a rigorous financial lens to creative industries, designing sustainable production models for both independent and studio-level projects.

A longtime industry advocate, Thibault has served on the Board of the Canadian Media Producers Association since 2017 and contributes to a range of advisory and policy initiatives. He is also a member of the Producers Guild of America.
