Mini bio

  • Charles Kittay stepped on the stage for the first time his freshman year of high school [Niles North HS, Skokie, Illinois, USA]. However, Kittay was more interested in playing football, and other sports rather than theater productions. Throughout his short time at Niles North HS Kittay had a brilliant acting instructor named Timothy Ortmann. After graduation Kittay enrolled at Harper College [Palatine, Illinois, USA] to play football for coach John Eliasik [NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame]. Also, at Harper College Kittay continued taking acting courses in the pursuit of developing a better understanding of his craft.

Approximately Spring of 1999, Kittay dropped out of college to pursue a career as an actor. Kittay spent most of his time reading on the floor at a local Barnes & Noble different acting theorists (e.g. Jerzy Grotowski, Lee Strasberg, James-Lange Theory, Constantin Stanislavski, David Mamet, etc). When Kittay was not reading, and perfecting his craft by attending workshops, Kittay would work several jobs to pay for his trip up to New York, New York, USA.

The summer of 1999 brought Kittay a lot of success. Kittay had his first opportunity to audition for prime-time television show, "Dawson's Creek". This is also the time when Charles was introduced to the ideology of Sanford Meisner [Meisner Technique].

Kittay put his acting career on hold by signing with the United States Army as a logistic specialist in March 2001.
