Aadip Desai is an Indian American television writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work includes the International Emmy-nominated series Sharkdog, the TCA-nominated Mira, Royal Detective, and DreamWorks’ Dew Drop Diaries. He was selected for the inaugural U.S. cohort of BAFTA Breakthrough for his work as a staff writer on The Goldbergs, where he co-wrote the show’s 150th episode.
Aadip is an alum of the Disney Television Writing Program, and previously trained at AFI’s Screenwriting MFA before departing early to join Disney. In addition to his work in television and film, he has worked as a music supervisor, voice actor, and comedian.
He is a member of the Writers Guild of America and BAFTA, and a former member of the Recording Academy. Aadip runs the 17,500-member LA TV Writers Group, serves as a Sundance Institute advisor, and has twice chaired the final jury for BAFTA Breakthrough U.S. He is also an experienced interviewer, panel moderator, podcast producer, and a frequent guest speaker/panelist at the WGA, CAPE, First Fifteen, Humanitas, Austin Film Festival, as well as AFI, LMU, NYU, USC, UCLA, and other film schools. He holds a BA in Economics with a minor in Music from the University of Puget Sound.
