Biography

Tina Love lives in Santa Barbara where she freelances as a writer/director/editor for local clients. She moved to Santa Barbara in 1997 and worked for a year as an extra to be on sets and to write a screenplay. Later she worked in casting at Santa Barbara Locations/ Reel Talent. At that time she wrote another spec script. She attended Brooks Institute Film School from 2002-2004 and enjoyed writing, directing and editing her own shorts. Her short Autumn Leaves (2006) screened at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival as an Official Selection. After this she co-produced, co-wrote, co-directed and edited three micro budget feature films (one dark comedy and two documentaries) that screened at several film festivals and won awards. Subsequently, she edited two nature documentaries directed by Michael Love (her former husband). Tina wrote/directed/edited the short Destroying Angel, that she licensed to ShortsTV after some festival exhibitions. At the same time she licensed Duende: The Red Shoes, a proof of concept for her screenplay Dancing the Red Shoes.. Over the years a local hired Tina to produce some documentaries for him, which had film festival exhibition Nicolas Den Irish Pioneer to Santa Barbara, The Passion of William Butler Yeats, and The Romance & Reaping of Riven Rock.

Between 2018 and 2021 Tina edited and wrote for three humanitarian documentaries for Wonderland Entertainment. As of 2022, her short dance film Mirage is traveling the film fest circuit and has won several awards. Tina has decks available for her feature script Dancing the Red Shoes and TV pilot Galileo Firestorm, both have been placing well in contests. In July 2022, Red Shoes made the Capital Fund Screenplay HOT 100 LIST.

Early years: Tina's mother Stella Brunet, a native Brooklynite, and her father Pierre Quintana, an immigrant from France, had met in Madrid. Tina was born Cristina Quintana in Brooklyn, New York. Registered by her father at the French consulate upon birth, she has dual US and French citizenship. Her family moved to Queens, then settled in Wilton, Connecticut for 18 years. As a child, she enjoyed presenting ad-lib productions with her sister and friends, and setting up displays of her artwork with price-tags to sell to the many visitors that came to the home, and her parents of course. She was an avid gymnast on the high school team. At the University of Connecticut in Stamford, she explored new directions such as photography, psychology, theater production, Shakespeare studies and dance. She created a cultural club that sponsored classic movie screenings and trips to NYC to attend theater shows, the ballet, and the opera. After receiving a BA in English Literature, she worked in Austria 1.5 years as an ESL teacher. She later moved to Santa Barbara CA where she worked in casting and also worked as an extra in LA while writing her first spec scripts. In 2001 took up flamenco dance and simultaneously attended Brooks Institute's film school in Ventura. She has two children for which she feels immense gratitude for: Peter (25)and Natalie (24).
