Biography

Georgi Atanasov Ingilizov is a Bulgarian writer and journalist. Georgi Ingilizov was born on October 31, 1955 in Burgas, Bulgaria. He completed Technical High School of Sea and Ocean Fishing 'General Vladimir Zaimov' in Burgas, specialty 'Ship mechanic'. He graduated from Veliko Tarnovo University 'St. St. Cyril and Methodius' with a specialty in Bulgarian philology. He worked for one year as a motorman of an ocean trawler. Since 1982 he has been an editor, a head of department and a secretary and from 1992 to 2011 - the editor of the regional daily newspaper ''Black sea lighthouse', Burgas. From 1990 to 1994 he took the position of an editor of the entertaining magazine for children "Cheerful child", too. Since 2011 he has been an editor of literature, art and culture magazine "Sea". Stories and novels of Georgi Ingilizov have been published in all major literary journals in the country and have been broadcasted by Bulgarian Radio, Varna Radio, Stara Zagora Radio, Shumen Radio. Georgi Ingilizov's stories have been translated into Russian in the newspaper "Literary Kubany" - a story and a feuilleton (1986); in Polish language in the Polish newspaper "Kurier Szczecin" and "Glos Szczecin" - short stories (1987); in French in the French magazine "Periodicals Review" - a story (2000); in Turkish language in the Turkish magazine "Kardes Kalemler" - a story (2010) and Anthology of Bulgarian story "Sicak Taslar" (2012). Books of Georgi Ingilizov: 1992 - "Good morning, sadness" - short stories and novellas; 1993 - " Whiskey in the color of the night" - short stories and novellas; 1997 - "Lunar seas " - short stories and novellas; 2002 - "Bulgarian Nautical Fiction Anthology"; 2008 - "Life - Part One" - a literary survey of Hristo Karastoyanov, He won four first prizes for writing a story in the National Competition of Nautical Theme, organized by the Municipality of Varna and the Bulgarian Maritime Fleet. He had a spouse Yordanka Ingilizova (died 2012) and has two daughters - Alexandra and Christina.
