Biography

Seamus Heaney was born on April 13, 1939 in Castledawson, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, UK. He was a writer and actor, known for Stay (2013), Bye-Child (2003) and Seamus Heaney's Beowulf (2015). He was married to Marie Devlin. He died on August 30, 2013 in Dublin, Ireland.

Winner of the 1995 Nobel Prize in Literature.

He is a poet, playwright, translator and lecturer who won the Noble Peace Prize for literature in 1995.
