Born in Western Australia in 1990, Adelaide Kane had been acting since she was 6 and got her first major role, in 2006, when she won the role of "Lolly Allen" on Neighbours (1985). She entered a Dolly Magazine Competition and won the role in late 2006. When she got the role, she and her family had to move from Perth to Melbourne, where "Neighbours" is filmed, she was in Year 11 at the time. In her free time, she enjoys singing and singing lessons. She is good friends with Caitlin Stasey, Eliza Taylor, and Sianoa Smit-McPhee, who are also on the show.

Is a maternal illegitimate descendant of the Royal Branch of Clan Stewart, the same whose Chief was once Mary I Stuart, Queen of Scotland, Head of the Church of Scotland, whom she played on "Reign".
Her father is Scottish, from Glasgow, and her mother is Australian and has Scottish, Irish, and French ancestry. They divorced in 1997. She has one brother, William.
She is an avid comic book reader and has stated that her all time favorites are Sin City, Watchmen, Fables, Sandman, Preacher, The Boys, Chew, House of Mysteries, Swamp Thing, Grimm Fairy Tales and American Vampire. She also cited the DC Comics character Wonder Woman as an influence on her performance as Mary, Queen of Scots.
She attended 2010 comic con dressed as DC Comics character Wonder Girl.
She's a fan of the shows "Firefly", "House of Cards" and "Archer". She's also a fan of "Game of Thrones", "Charmed", "Invader Zim" and "Adventure Time".

Auditioning is extremely bizarre. Just being an actor is extremely bizarre, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Auditioning and actually acting on a set are two different things. When you audition, you're in a room and you don't have anything to play with and you don't have anything physically in the room. Whereas on set, you have direction, you have costumes, and you have other actors to work with. It's a completely different thing.
I don't really watch a lot of TV, to be honest. I'm more of a movie girl, or I Netflix stuff.
I learned by watching my favorite shows. I would just rewind and say the words back, until they sounded right to me. I never studied the American accent, in terms of getting a teacher or taking phonetics classes. I've always been a good mimic. It really wasn't that hard for me.
I didn't know what was going to happen with Teen Wolf (2011). I was only scheduled to do four episodes for them, but they kept me on, and I was like, 'Sweet! I'm still employed! That's awesome!' And then, they let me know that they were considering having me for the second half of the season.
