Katheryn McGaffigan grew up in New Hampshire to a German-American family and is based in New York City. She made her Off-Broadway debut with Follower, a solo show she wrote and performed, at Theatre Row as part of the acclaimed United Solo Theatre Festival. Follower was further developed for the NYC Fringe Festival, where its final two performances sold out earning a Sell-Out Award. The show then went on to a five-performance engagement at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Katheryn is also a singer-songwriter who performs with her own band at venues such as the Mercury Lounge. She performed internationally with the gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello and appears in several documentaries about the group (Gogol Bordello Non-Stop (2006), The Pied Piper of Hützovina (2007), Gogol Bordello Documentary (2002), Scream of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story (2023)).
Katheryn has trained extensively in acting and storytelling, studying at Harvard University, Sarah Lawrence College, The Barrow Group, Magnet Theater, LAByrinth Theater Company, Lucid Body, The New Actors Workshop, and the Bali Conservatory.
