Marshall Eugene Jones, born in Dayton, Ohio, was known professionally as Marshall "Rock" Jones. An American bass player, composer and songwriter, he is best known as a founding member and bassist of the funk, soul music and R&B band Ohio Players. He died of cancer in Houston, Texas, at age 75.
