- Related to former President of Panama, Arnulfo Arias. Her maternal grandmother's Uncle was Arnulfo Arias, former president of Panama (1940-41, 1949-51, and for 10 days in October 1968). Her Grandmother's name was Rosina Arias.
- After being set up on "blind date", she went on to have a relationship with Peter Gabriel in the early 1990s and sang 'back up' on the tail end of his Latin America tour.
