  • Charlie Askew is a six time Emmy Award winning Director, Cinematographer and Editor.

    Before starting his independent career in film production, Charlie was a producer, editor, director for NFL films. During his tenure at NFL Films, Askew produced Documentaries, series and commercials for broadcast partners such as HBO, CBS, FOX, and Showtime. In 2013 Askew directed "A Football Life" episodes featuring Cris Carter and Steve Gleason. He also directed show opens for NFL Film's Presents, A Football Life, Top Ten, Hard Knocks and many others.

    One of Askew's first independent ventures included Director of Photography for Snoop & Son: A Dad's Dream, a five-part documentary style series produced by ESPN. The series follows Snoop's son Cordell, 17, a standout student and prep player, and one of the most sought after recruits in the nation as the top schools from Notre Dame to USC compete for his commitment. This project included exclusive behind-the-scenes access to Snoop and Cordell into the Broadus home for family dinners, on Snoop's tour, and on the sidelines for each game of Cordell's senior season.

    In April of 2015, Askew was commissioned to create video content for social media to promote the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight which received over 100 million views. Showtime Sports used much of this footage in their award winning series "All Access".

    In 2017, Askew was credited for Director of Photographer and Editor for ESPN's 30 for 30: 'Nature Boy, featuring Ric Flair.

    Askew was the Director of Photography and co-directed the independent film Triumph featuring the Albanian National Soccer team's qualification into the 2016 Euro Cup. The film is an official selection of the 2017 Warsaw Film Festival.

    In 2018, Askew helped produce, shoot and edit "All or Nothing: The Michigan Wolverines," the Amazon series chronicling the University of Michigan's football season.

    Askew is the Director of Photography and lead Editor for "Dana White: Lookin' for a Fight," the UFC series following Dana White, Matt Serra and Di Thomas as they hit the road in search of potential UFC superstars.
