Biography

John Winscher is a classically trained actor whose work often combines dramatic intensity with unexpected humor. A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, his skills extend beyond stage and screen to include motion capture, stunt choreography, theatrical sword fighting, professional dance, and living statue performance.

His film and television credits include Cobra Kai (Netflix), The Righteous Gemstones (HBO), The Vampire Diaries (The CW), Good Behavior (TNT), and Reprisal (Hulu).

Since 2024, John has been a company member of The Exodus Ensemble, an immersive theatre company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The company has been featured on the cover of American Theatre magazine, received Santa Fe's 2024 Mayor's Award for Innovation in the Arts, and was named Best Performance Group in New Mexico by New Mexico Entertainment magazine. Immersive theatre and the development of new original work have since become the primary focus of his artistic career.
