Biography

Born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Vicente Moreno works as director, writer and editor for television shows, short and feature films.

He graduated in cinema from Unisinos in 2006, where he currently teaches editing and screenwriting, and is finishing his master's degree in communication at Pucrs. He also teaches film directing at Unespar/FAP (Curitiba) and was responsible for the editing and screenwriting classes at Unisinos' Cinema Postgraduate Specialization School for four years.

Besides writing the scripts for his own films, Vicente collaborated with the scripts of "A Última Estrada da Praia" (Last Road to the Beach, 2010, dir. Fabiano de Souza); "Quase um Tango..." (2009, dir. Sérgio Silva); and "Aos Olhos de Ernesto" (still in production, dir. Ana Luiza Azevedo).

He directed the documentary "Absoluto" (2010), which set the world record for the largest attendance at a film screening in it's premiere at Beira-Rio Stadium; the short films "Sem Sinal" (2009) and "Mãos Dadas" (2010), both awarded with best direction in Histórias Curtas Award; and the documentary "Horizonte Flutuante", with Mario Vargas Llosa, Carlo Ginzburg, Terry Eagleton, among other contemporary thinkers.

Most recently, he directed the television show "Para que Servem os Homens" (2013) for RBSTV and the short film "Notícias Tuas" (News From You, 2013). His is now launching the feature "Dromedário no Asfalto" (Camel on the Tarmac, 2014, dir. Gilson Vargas) as editor and producer, and two new short films he directed: "Cedo" (Early, 2014), with the collaboration of the philosopher Peter Singer; and "Depois da Avenida", about the impact of the World Cup over a poor community in south of Brazil.
