- April Henry is a Los Angeles based Multi-genre Vocalist, Songwriter, Producer and Actor who claws through the raw nerve of human emotion with a tender heart, an iron-fist and a velvet glove.
Music highlights include the honor of performing with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Michael Hampton, opening for the Legendary Yardbirds, working with Multi Emmy Winning Composer Brad Hatfield creating music for 'The Young and the Restless' and in the studio with Oscar Winning Songwriter Diane Warren.
As a music artist and session vocalist, April's unique skill and passion is transformation. Her reputation as a vocal chameleon, has lent her to being compared to a huge range of artists, from the more bright and delicate Regina Spektor all the way to the rawness of Janis Joplin, and power of Whitney Houston and Adele. She sings and writes in several genres, and is also a Conservatory trained Opera singer, Actress, Writer and Dancer. She has performed Off-Broadway, toured globally as a Rock Singer and writes music for Film and TV.
She was recently honored to lend her voice to the Grammy-nominated project 'Impossible Dream' by Aaron Lazar, which aims to raise awareness for the ALS Network.
April Henry is also an Award Nominated Actor, originally from South Florida, known for Five Minutes (I) (2017), Prince Ea: Who I'm Voting for.... and its Not Who You Think (2016), South Beach Dreams (2006), Pledge This! (2006)
After graduating from the New World School of the Arts Conservatory, April wrote and co-directed her award nominated one person show, that received stellar reviews as well as a Carbonell Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play. She then performed Off-Broadway in NYC, created and performed Dance Music and Alternative music in Chicago, NYC, LA, and also traveled the globe performing her music in Japan, Sweden, Norway and more. In 2017, April was seen touring Hard Rock Cafes on the East Coast from Miami to Philly and the West Coast from Palm Springs all the way to Anchorage, Alaska and Vancouver, Canada.
She has won several songwriting competitions, such as the International Songwriting Competition (judged by Robert Smith, Peter Gabriel, Adele and others) and the eWorld Music Awards (panel and producers include Emmy Award winning John Hamilton and Emmy Award Winning Director of the Golden Globes / Independent Spirit Awards Chris Donovan.) April has also garnered accolades for her vocal performance and music production at the Indie Music Channel Awards in the categories of Best New Alternative Artist, Best Music Video, and Best Producer.
April is currently working on several music projects in alignment with her life's purpose; to inspire, to connect and to transform.
