He loves the puzzle of editing; mining the footage to shape the story, character, style, rhythms, and message to unlock the most impactful piece possible. John has led projects, managed teams, designed post workflows, and is adept at navigating complex work environments. He's cut six feature films, reality TV for National Geographic, commercials for companies like Google and Old Spice, and TV promos for TNT, AMC, and the FX network.
As a writer/director, he has received several accolades for his acute attention to rich world-building and peculiar characters. 'Songbird' was an Official Selection at The Sundance Film Festival and aired on The Sundance Channel. 'Breathe' was a Student Academy Award Finalist. 'Black White Black White' was an Official Selection at the Tribeca Film Festival. He has directed video sketches for the HBO series 'Rachel Dratch's Late Night Snack'.
When he's not working on movies, John enjoys camping, playing guitar, and writing in the 3rd person.
