Yet, with tracks like "Als ik in mijn tuintje sta," "Oh mijn Kempen," "Ieder huisje heeft zijn kruisje," "Op de purpere hei," and Armand Preud'homme's "Kempen o land," he demonstrated the very opposite: that his small region of Kempen lay closer to his heart than such a grand career might suggest.
