Matt worked in film and music production in Edmonton, Alberta as a Grip. In 2008 Matt started the Deadmonton Horror Festival in collaboration with the Metro Cinema. In 2009, Matt produced the short film "Love, Hate, Tragedy" with the Alberta Foundation For The Arts. The short film was screened at Summer Tromadance in 2009. In 2010, Matt wrote the feature-length screenplay "Psycho Ex-Girlfriend", which garnered attention from genre fans, but remains unproduced. Matt worked closely with director Stuart Gordon as an assistant on Nevermore, as well as a Web Developer for his website redhenprods.com.
