- Jan Joris was born on November 8, 1927 in Mechelen, Flanders, Belgium. He was an actor, known for Biografie (1967), Liefde in Transit (1959) and Kiss Me Kate (1967). He died on November 20, 2011 in Deurne, Flanders, Belgium.
- Joris was an honorary teacher of singing at the music conservatory of Mechelen and at the royal music academy of Ghent.
- As the chosen one, he was allowed to sing the solo part during the confirmation ceremony of Josephine Charlotte of Belgium.
- Opera singer Jan Joris was engaged as a soloist in 1951 by the then NIR and in that capacity participated in hundreds of radio and television programs, especially in the sixties and seventies. Several of these were broadcast by radio and television stations all over the world.
