Stevenn Beck

Overview

  • Height
    5′ 8″ (1.73 m)

Mini bio

  • Intelligent, passionate, empathetic, evolved...and the quintessential "Mister Nice Guy"...Stevenn was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island; he spent most of his life in the public sector helping people, first, as a teacher both on LI and in King George, Virginia, and later, as an executive with the Federal Government managing programs that provide financial assistance the poor, disabled, and elderly.

Stevenn's creative side surfaced as a singer/songwriter in the Village in the 1980s (He has written more than 100 songs and much of his original "retro" folk-rock music is available online.) In 1992 Stevenn performed at an outdoor concert in Columbia, Maryland. At that point the desire to act, long dormant, began to re-emerge but had to be postponed due to the birth of his daughter and subsequent separation/divorce.

Finally finding himself with the necessary time, Stevenn began taking acting lessons in 2003 and has appeared in a few independent films as well as a guest starring role in the Internet sitcom "Duder". One of his films ("Happy Birthday") was named Best Short Film at the Cape May, NJ Film Festival and"The Evaluation" won as Best Science Fiction film in the Staten Island Film Festival. Stevenn has most recently appeared in the indie film "Simchas and Sorrows" and the featurette "By The Dashboard Light".

Stevenn has also appeared onstage several local theatre productions, including "The Crucible" (as Reverend Paris), "The Odd Couple" (as Speed) and "I Hate Hamlet" (as Gary) and as the husband in the off-Broadway play "A New Beginning".

Stevenn lives with his second wife in Manhattan; he has one daughter who is the curator in a NYC Museum and two stepchildren, one of which is a popular and prolific TV comedy writer, stand-up comedian and film director.

On the top of his "bucket-list"...getting the opportunity to play a multi-dimensional character that is able to connect with the audience while serving the needs of the story.
