Biography

James H. Brown was born on July 26, 1930 in the USA. He was an assistant director and producer, known for Marnie (1964), The Birds (1963) and Circle of Fear (1972). He was married to Audrey Dalton. He died on July 10, 2011 in Angels Camp, California, USA.

Brown and Audrey Dalton were the parents of Tara Anne (born 1953), Victoria Patricia (1955), James E. (1957) and Richard P. (1959).

Shortly before his death, Brown was interviewed by Gwyneth Hughes as part of her alleged research for her script of "The Girl", stipulating that he would not contribute to a negative portrait of Alfred Hitchcock, whom he regarded as not only a great genius of the cinema, but as a great man who had shown him considerable kindness and generosity. His widow has claimed, in the strongest terms, that his positive and admiring views of Hitchcock were ignored and that the extremely negative view of Hitchcock in "The Girl" was a gross distortion of the truth.
