Professional boxer.

Inducted into Interational Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004.

In 1998 he began working at the Lighthouse, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Mays Landing, New Jersey. He worked with both adults and adolescents and was a patient advocate.

Was convicted of armed robbery in 1973 and spent five years in prison at Rahway State Prison in New Jersey. The prison had an extensive boxing program and one of its inmates, James Scott, was a light heavyweight title contender who fought several times inside the prison itself.

Son of Charles Braxton, and Alice Holmes Braxton.

Inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame in 1997.

Survived by his sister Wanda King, two brothers, Thomas King, and David Braxton, and two sons, Dwight Ibn Qawi, and Thomas Walls, and two grandsons.
