  • Michael Cable is an Emmy award-winning journalist, television producer and documentary filmmaker. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Michael finished high school in Asheville, North Carolina and attended journalism school at the University of Alabama. He calls Charlotte, North Carolina home today and often uses the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains as a backdrop for his films. As a journalist, Michael broke investigative stories that changed laws and wove together intimate human-interest stories that changed lives. In his 10-year career as a commercial television reporter, Michael was honored with several of the highest awards given to journalists who made a difference; including multiple Emmy awards, the Edward R. Murrow award and the Society of Professional Journalist's highest honor, the Green Eyeshade award for Continued Excellence in Journalism. As a television producer and documentary filmmaker, Michael has created award-winning television series that educate and inspire, and has produced award-winning documentary films that illuminate the enduring human spirit. Throughout his more than 15-year career in television and film, Michael has been recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for Outstanding Achievement in multiple categories, winning Emmys for his television series, "Everyday Edisons," his investigative television special's "Carolina in Crisis" and "Under the Gun," and for several documentaries including "The Bond of Brotherhood," "The Big Picture," and "The Road to Nowhere."
