George Weidenfeld was born on 13 September 1919 in Vienna, Austria. He was married to Annabelle Whitestone and Barbara Skelton. He died on 20 January 2016 in London, England.
Co-founder of the publishing firm Weidenfeld & Nicolson with Nigel Nicolson. Became a British citizen in 1946. Created Baron Weidenfeld of Chelsea in the County of Greater London in 1976.
