Biography

Attended Eisenbach elementary school, Klingenberg state secondary school and Ohm polytechnic in Nuremberg, graduating with a degree in engineering (FH). Skilled worker examination as mechanic. Mechanical engineer. Further training as safety engineer.

1972 to 1990 senior safety engineer at the company AKZO, Obernburg.

Member of various cultural, social and church associations.

Since 1969, member of the Junge Union and the CSU; active in local, district and regional CSU executive committees; 1989 to 1995, CSU district chairman of Miltenberg, since 2000, chairman of the health policy working group of the CSU, member of the "Aktion Lebensrecht für Alle (ALfA)". 1972 to 1978 municipal councilor in Eisenbach, 1978 to 2002 city councilor and second mayor in Obernburg, since 1978 district councilor in the Miltenberg district; 1984 to 1987 CSU parliamentary group chairman in the Miltenberg district council.
