On July 27, 2019, she married her boyfriend of nine years Dennis Jauch in a ceremony held at a Tuscan vineyard, which is located just south of Florence, Italy. They first met in 2010 when he was performing as a backup singer on Lewis' tour, and he popped the question after their eighth anniversary in August 2018.

In June 2021, Lewis was made the official patron of Hackney Empire, as part of its 120th anniversary celebrations. She will continue to mentor students and host workshops to champion the arts of the students at the historic venue.

In 2017, Lewis revealed that she has Hashimoto's disease, detailing the pain and fatigue experienced because of the disease.

She was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2024 King's New Years Honours List for her services to Music and to Charity. She is a singer-songwriter, performer and philanthropist.
