Matthew Thomas Borek, a Local 600 camera technician, was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. His education in filmmaking from Columbia College Chicago led him to Los Angeles, CA, where he now works with film and digital camera systems on narrative features, commercials and episodic television. @CameraSamurai is a moniker given to Matthew by former students of USC and the handle of his social media accounts.
