Biography

Brian J. Leitten is an emerging writer and Emmy award-winning television producer and documentary filmmaker. Brian spent ten years at MTV, working in Music & Talent, Series Development and producing four seasons of the TV show MADE. From there, he became an executive producer and director of production at Vevo, interviewing hundreds of musicians from Taylor Swift to Pitbull and directed two short docs with Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails.

Through his production company, Hyperion XIII, Brian has produced and directed multiple award-winning documentaries and partnered on productions with Netflix, Morgan Stanley and Spotify. He’s filmed on all 7 continents, almost died directing in the Alaskan wilderness and is an executive producer and writer for the Rose Parade Broadcast team. Brian spent nine years as an adjunct professor of media production with the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where he was named the Outstanding Young Alumnus in 2014.

Brian enjoys crafting stories about alternate history, found family, and anything in the science fiction realm. His writing has placed in a variety of competitions including Finish Line, Shore Scripts, Launch Pad, Filmmatic and his pilot script "Red State" won the 2025 Thriller Screenplay Competition with ISA.
