- Lost his WBA Heavyweight title to Ruslan Chagaev on the 14th of April 2007 ending his undefeated streak 3 fights short of equaling Rocky Marciano's record. Due to injury, Chagaev was unable to fight him in a rematch. Valuev and Chagaev have been co-holders of the title since August 2008 when Valuev beat top contender John Ruiz.
