- Born and raised in Chicago, Lisa Joyce is a celebrated actor and writer most well known for her work in the award winning HBO comedy "Insecure". Some of her other acting credits include: "A Master Builder" directed by Jonathan Demme, and "Billy & Billie" opposite Adam Brody, as well as working extensively on and off-Broadway.
Joyce has been nominated for Joseph Jefferson and Drama Desk Awards and is the winner of the Helen Hayes Award for acting. Her original screenplay, co-written with Berry Hatfield, "Treehuggers: A Love Story", was a semifinalist for the Academy of Motion Pictures Nicholl Fellowship.
