Eric Pastore (aka Eric Blackwood), is the Vocalist, Lead & Synth Guitarist, Composer & Soundtrack Scorer for Edison's Children. starring Astronaut Neil Armstrong's son Rick Armstrong & Prog's winner for World's Greatest bassist: Marillion/Transatlantic's Pete Trewavas. Eric has helped create over 100 Movies & TV shows such as Spiderman 3, I Am Legend & American Gangster brought some of Hollywood's most memorable Car Chases & Crashes with the "KFX" Special FX team on such films as Bourne Ultimatum, Wanted & I Am Legend as an On Set Special FX & Property Technician. He is also a noted Author, baseball stadium historian and has appeared on the MLB Network, Dodgers Pre-Game Show and The History Channel.
  • Eric Pastore grew up in Staten Island NYC with his wife, Rock Album Cover artist & Property Technician Wendy Farrell Pastore. He began his career at the WWOR-TV "super-station" supporting in house programming for "The Howard Stern Show" and "The New York Mets". His first album, Blackwood & Foti's "Haunted Memories" produced by Foreigner's Al Greenwood & Dave Greenberg featured superstar guitarist Al Pitrelli (Asia/Alice Cooper/Trans Siberian Orchestra). The album and his writings with Anthony J. Foti have earned him 5 "Grammy ballot" considerations. Blackwood & Foti also performed on WWOR-TV's the "Richard Bey Show (People are Talking)". After concentrating on movie soundtracks, Eric returned to the film business as an on-set Special FX & Property Technician (Local 52 IATSE); working under such famed directors as: Marty Scorsese, The Coen Brothers, Ridley Scott & Tony Scott, Darren Aronofsky, Oliver Stone, Nora Ephron, Woody Allen, Sam Mendes, Sam Raimi, Dave Eggers, Jodie Foster, Kevin Smith & Guy Ritchie. He has personally worked multiple films & shows with actors Meryl Streep, Matt Damon, Jennifer "J-Lo" Lopez, Jason Bateman, Denzel Washington, Justin Timberlake, Howard Stern, James Gandolfini, Michael Imperioli, Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie, Nicholas Cage, Bruce Willis, Halle Berry, John Travolta, Richard Gere, Jude Law, Mel Gibson, Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Drew Barrymore and hundreds of other A-List actors.
  • Edison's Children's soundtrack style o music would release 5 Sci-Fi concept albums taking Eric's wealth of experience in cinematic storytelling and applying it to music. Combining elements of Pink Floyd and Tool with full symphonic orchestration, Edison's Children leans heavily on haunting, supernatural and extra-terrestrial themes. Edison's Children's first album "In The Last Waking Moments..." about an alien abductee trying to comprehend whether his experiences were reality or a descent into madness, was released on 11.11.11.
"In The Last Waking Moments..." received tremendous praise from PROG Magazine with a 5 star rating. It also attracted such prominent figures as Ancient Aliens' Producer & UFOlogist Giorgio A. Tsoukalos (performing a personal concert for him and his wife Krix backstage in Chicago); and the Neil Armstrong Family with son Rick learning every song from the album. Rick asked to become part of the band's future and he joined Edison's Children in Montreal while supporting Marillion in the UK, Amsterdam and Canada.
  • The single "A Million Miles Away (I Wish I Had A Time Machine)" EP made the FMQB report for 10 straight weeks of Top 40 FM radio play in America peaking at #32.
  • This was followed up by the 2nd album "The Final Breath Before November" focusing on the seconds before the stroke of midnight on Halloween when the fabric between here and the underworld is at its thinnest. Their 3rd album "Somewhere Between Here and There featured unreleased soundtrack tracks and remixes by King Crimson's Lead Singer Jakko. In the 4th album "The Disturbance Fields", Edison's Children focuses on an apocalyptic response by Mother Nature to our neglect towards climate change. The Double Vinyl album/CD was released at and performed by Edison's Children at the 50th anniversary Celebration of Rick's Dad and Apollo 11 landing on the moon at NASA A.S.F.. The band was joined by members of Porcupine Tree and "The Alan Parsons Project" who co-headlined the outdoor concert with a mashup between the two bands during the encore.
  • Edison's Children's music and it's sci-fi fantasy style of sound combined with Neil Armstrong's son Rick Armstrong and his cosmic compositions and Eric Blackwood's sweeping orchestral themes (both with and without vocals) have been exciting additions to Major Motion Picture and Music Direction.
