Originally a jazz vocalist of the 1950s who recorded with Nat Pierce and (for two years) George Shearing. After going solo and being signed by RCA Records, she was, somewhat unwillingly, required to sing pop songs.One of her singles, Mr.Wonderful, ended up in the top 20 of the charts in 1956.
