  • Emmy Award-nominated composer Ruth Barrett is one of UK's most sought-after film and television composers. Her music is unmistakably original and eclectic, spanning feature films and high-end TV drama.

    Barrett's newest projects include Prime Video's The Terminal List: Dark Wolf and The Girlfriend, directed by/starring Robin Wright.

    Film credits include Victoria Mahoney's The Old Guard 2, which she co-scored with Steffen Thum; Pete Travis' feature films City of Tiny Lights and Legacy; Daniel Barber's Harry Brown, which she co-scored with Martin Phipps; S.J Clarkson's Toast; Paul Abbott's Twenty8k; and more.

    Television credits include PBS's Victoria, for which she received an Emmy nomination in 2017 in the "Outstanding Music Composition for a Series" category; Netflix's Golden Globe-nominated drama series Bodyguard; Netflix's The Decameron; NBC's Law & Order: Organized Crime; Apple TV+'s documentary series Big Beasts; Prime Video's The Terminal List; PBS's mini-series Sanditon; The Durrells; and Wuthering Heights; Hulu's The Sister; Acorn TV's Bloodlands; BBC's Wallander, Collateral, and Love Nina; ITV's Whitechapel; British Sky Broadcasting's Critical; and more.

    Barrett studied composition at The Royal Academy of Music and read music at Cambridge University. She started her career composing for theatre and commercials before setting up a music production company, Rubykon, with composer and engineer Ruskin Williamson. Between them, they have worked on numerous documentaries, ad campaigns and short films.
