  • Won 1972 Nobel Prize in Physics with Leon Neil Cooper and John Robert Schrieffer for their theory on superconductivity. John Robert Schrieffer was born 31 May 1931, in Oak Park, Illinois and died 27 July 2019, Tallahassee, Florida.
  • Won 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics with Walter Brattain and William Shockley for "investigations on semiconductors and the discovery of the transistor effect".
