Biography

Rachel Whiteread was born in 1963 in London, England, UK. She is known for War Paint: Women at War (2025), ArtShock (2006) and Sensationalists: The Bad Girls and Boys of British Art (2022).

She declined an M.B.E. (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1997 Queen's Honours List but accepted the C.B.E. (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2006 Queen's Honours List for her services to art.
