Mini bio

  • Justin Murphy is a graduate of Jacksonville University and the founder of the production company Legacy Animation Studios. He began his producing and directing career on the stage with a highly successful production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" at the Florida Theatre in 1999.

In 1994 he collaborated with composer Roger Butterley on the musical "Eagle Song". Six years later they would complete the show and record a full symphonic recording that starred Jamie Lynn Sigler of HBO's "The Sopranos".

In 2002 Justin wrote a rock opera with Butterley called "Fallen Angel" and produced and directed the theatrical DVD version two years later. In 2006, "Fallen Angel" was accepted into the New York International Fringe Festival where it won the award for Most Outstanding Musical.

As an indie comic book publisher in High School, Murphy returned to comics in later years, writing and illustrating "Cleburne: A Graphic Novel". After its publication in 2008, "Cleburne" went on to win the Book of the Year Award by ForeWord Magazine.

In 2010, he followed up the humor book "Holidaze".

While completing his MFA at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, he began work on his thesis "Battledawgz". The animated feature film went into development in 2013 and is still in production.

In 2020 Murphy published the comic book mini-series "War Party" with Rampart Press.
